Synopsis by Brett Alan Weiss Strap on your helmet and get ready to score some touchdowns with M Network's Super Challenge Football for the Atari VCS. Designed for two players, the game lets each gamer control a five-man offense (four linemen and a quarterback) and a five-man defense (four linemen and a linebacker) through four quarters of gridiron action. Each quarter lasts 15 simulated minutes. Prior to the snap, both teams will need to call their plays. There are five offensive patterns and four defensive schemes from which to choose. There is no out of bounds and no kicks or punts, but there is passing, rushing, blocking, tackling, hiking, interceptions and incompletes. The player on defense controls the linebacker while the player on offense controls the quarterback. After a pass has been received, offensive control switches to the player who caught the pass. Super Challenge Football has a regulation 100-yard field, but a curious thing happens when a player runs off one end of the field -- he instantly appears at the other end!
