Review :
Synopsis by Brett Alan Weiss Easily one of the best games for the system, Sonic CD has the same type of high-speed, hop-spin-and-bop gameplay as Sonic the Hedgehog, but it improves the formula (and the length of the game) by allowing players to time warp to the past and the future within each level. Other features new to the series include anime-style intro and ending sequences, a CD-quality soundtrack, and enhanced background detail. In addition, the special stage, which has Sonic running down a track destroying UFOs, shows off the system's rotating, scaling, and 3D capabilities.
