Synopsis
by Scott Alan Marriott

Two basketball legends compete on the hardwood in this sequel to the computer classic, Dr. J and Larry Bird Go One on One. The console title follows a nearly identical format to the early computer game, albeit with some visual changes and additional features. Experience Larry Bird's three-point thrills or Michael Jordan's aerial acrobatics in a game of 21 on the half-court. Toggle fouls, winner's outs, and adjust either the time limit or the points needed to win. Jordan vs. Bird also includes two mini-games: a dunk contest and a three-point shootout. As Jordan, master ten different slams. As Bird, hit nothing but net from behind the three-point line.

Extra Creditsby Brett Alan Weiss

This game is an offshoot (so to speak) of Julius Erving and Larry Bird Go One-On-One (1984), the first sports videogame to feature professional athletes. The high-flying, acrobatic Michael Jordan won six championships with the Chicago Bulls while three-point specialist Larry Bird won two with the Boston Celtics. Jordan is widely regarded as the greatest player of all time while Bird is held in high esteem as a great rebounder, fantastic team player and excellent passer.
