Synopsis
by Christopher Michael Baker

Put that controller aside and plug in your light gun for Duck Hunt, one of the first releases for the NES. With Zapper in hand, shoot down wave after wave of ducks and clay pigeons throughout three modes of gameplay -- or miss and give your dog something to laugh about. The game offers three basic modes of play.
In "Game A." it's you and three shots against one duck per screen. Shoot down six out of ten ducks in order to advance to the next round. The ducks get faster and more mobile as the game progresses, making each round harder than the last. Your game is over when you fail to shoot six ducks in one round.
"Game B" is similar to "Game A" but features two onscreen ducks at once. Since there are twice as many ducks on each screen, there are only five screens instead of the ten in "Game A."
Unique among the three games, "Game C" offers clay pigeons as targets instead of the aquatic birds. Two at a time will appear onscreen to be blasted in three shots or fewer. Keep going until you fail to shoot six of them out of ten in a round.
Mutlplayer play is also supported in Duck Hunt. Using an NES gamepad plugged into the left controller port, a second player can take control of the ducks, causing them to change direction in mid-flight as the player with the Zapper attempts to shoot them down.
