Review :
Synopsis by Scott Alan Marriott Blending arcade-style action with a level of customization typically found in simulations, Baseball Stars on the NES features the ability to create teams. leagues, and even players. Battery-backed memory lets you track key statistics and win-loss records for a total of 14 fictional teams, six of which can be edited and customized. The pitching system features manual control over curveballs, fastballs, sinkers, and off-speed types, while batting involves timing your swing as the ball crosses the plate. Playing games has the added benefit of earning you money, with the amount influenced by the "prestige rating" of the teams involved. Your earnings can be used to purchase skill enhancements to existing team members, or used to pay the salaries of free agents. Each team carries a roster of 18 players, with options to trade, "fire," and hire athletes to maintain a competitive edge.
